Porcelain inlay-onlay filling is used as an alternative to porcelain crowns to protect the dental integrity, especially for teeth, those underwent canal root treatment, lost their fluid and their fragility is increased. Another area of use is being an alternative to composite fillings in teeth with excessive material loss, both to provide an aesthetic look and to provide dental contact concordance.  Moreover, they are also used in increasing of vertical size of excessively eroded teeth.

They are person-specific full porcelain fillings, those protect dental integrity and remain intact against chewing forces and look aesthetically at the same time, in cases of excessive dental tissue losses. They are generally used in back (molar) teeth. As porcelain inlay filling is a specific filling done for the inner segments of peaks of molar regions of teeth, porcelain onlay filling is on the other hand the larger porcelain fillings including those peaks of molar teeth.

The biggest advantage of aesthetic composite fillings is patient satisfaction, thanks to broad range of shade options and transparency. Additionally, they are low cost materials. Patient can have aesthetic filling on the same teeth again, if he/she desires. It is preferred by patients, since only minimal procedure is carried out on dental tissue.

In care of aesthetic fillings, a good oral hygiene is the priority first factor. In cases, which an ideal oral hygiene cannot be achieved, gingival problems arose and at the same time dental caries can be seen. Moreover, hard foods must be avoided, since these foods may cause erosion on composite material. Hard tooth brushing must be avoided also, since this type of brushing may cause erosion. Another point is that, consumption of discoloring agents, foods and drinks, such as tobacco, tea, coffee must be done carefully, as they can cause discoloration of aesthetic fillings.

There is rule of golden ratio in teeth and in all nature as well. According to this ratio, for teeth to look aesthetically perfect on front look during smile, they must be seen in a definite ratio. In aesthetic fillings, this ratio is taken into consideration and first roughened areas are created on teeth with minimal procedures. Then, restorations are performed on these areas with composite materials, which is easy to give shape.

No, not exactly, despite dental procedures are generally performed under local anesthesia, in some cases (in which minimal cutting and correction on teeth are performed) even local anesthesia is not required.

They are aesthetic procedures, those are performed to change and correct shade, size and form of teeth, using composite (white) filling in restoration of caries, eroded and broken teeth. It can be dubbed as dental tissue friendly procedure, as minimal substance loss of dental tissue is present in dental bonding. Satisfying results for our patients at affordable prices are achieved, since cost of material used, composite filling, is low but shade options are numerous.

Aesthetic dentistry is a set of various procedures on teeth and gums and a set of treatments which helps patients gain healthy and aesthetic look and gain lost functions back. Aesthetic dentistry makes treatment of cavities, eroded teeth, discolored teeth (whitening), sensitive teeth, gap teeth (diastema), traumatized teeth, broken teeth, shape, tissue and form disorders, and mildly crooked teeth. For these treatments, composite white fillings (dental bonding), porcelain fillings (inlay-onlay), dental fiber applications, methods of whitening, laser technology and laminate veneers are utilized.

Porcelain laminates require minimal cutting procedures, in addition they are not stained by tobacco, tea, red wine, coffee and etc. Porcelain laminates do not cause discoloration in gums in time, since they are very thin and they do not include metal. Porcelain laminates allow light rays pass through them since they are very thin, and also they have a unique ability to make the teeth, on which they are applied, look natural. With this feature, they look natural even under flashlights and disco lights. Under these types of lights, crowns including metal are seen as black spots, making them appear as they do not exist. They provide a natural enamel look, as they provide protection against caries and discolorations. The teeth, which require all around crowning after reducing, may have a perfect look with only a small cutting on their front surfaces, depending on their places, thanks to porcelain laminates.

Cutting procedures (getting ready of teeth for crowning) is done under local anesthesia and then a temporary crown in teeth shade is placed therefore aching in hot or cold is prevented. A minimal aching is seen in a small number of the patients, generally the process is completed without any major problem.

You can do oral cleaning and care just as you do while brushing your teeth. Dental floss is used for interdental areas. When regular dentist visits, once in six months periods, are paid, problems are determined beforehand and precautions are taken.

They do not cause plaque deposition thanks to its polished and smooth surfaces. Therefore, it is not affected by discoloring agents such as coffee, tea, and tobacco. Its shade stays stable.

They can be used in crown bridges, as well as in implant supported prostheses. Zirconia material is covered with porcelain and ceramic and thus aesthetically successful results are obtained. Its most substantial feature is that it is tissue friendly material. It is quite durable against chewing pressure, in addition they never reflect grey color from gums because they have the same shade with teeth.

Since there is no metal reflection beneath them, no artificial look is noted, which is normally seen in metal abutments.

Zirconium is an infrastructure (supportive) material; since it is white in color, its harmony with porcelain superstructure will have better aesthetic outcomes than metallic infrastructures. Accordingly, most remarkable advantage of zirconium used as a base for porcelain restorations originates from aesthetic features. They ensure total harmony with natural teeth, thanks to their light transmittance. Thereby, a perfect aesthetic outcome can be achieved. Since quality of aesthetic appearance is high and light transmittance is strong, appearance is very close to that of natural teeth. Since porcelain blocks are prepared utilizing digital techniques completely, error rate is minimized. Moreover, some studies had proven that harmony of zirconium with gums is better than that of metallic infrastructures.
